Rob Lowe - Lowes Wife Recalls Former Nannys Improper Behaviour

ROB LOWE's nanny battle has just taken a new direction - the actor's wife has filed a declaration suggesting JESSICA GIBSON was too familiar with her husband.

Gibson filed a lawsuit in California in April (08) alleging Lowe placed his hand inside her "pants in order to touch her crotch" and "grabbed Gibson's buttocks without consent" several times between September 2005 to January 2008.

But Lowe's wife Sheryl insists her former nanny isn't the innocent party she's claiming to be.

In her declaration, obtained by TMZ.com, Sheryl Lowe alleges Gibson "sought attention from my husband", and she recalls a family fishing trip in February (08) that turned sour when the nanny asked the actor to run sun-tan lotion onto her back.

Sheryl Lowe recalls, "(She) asked my husband, in front of me and sitting next to me, if he would rub sun block on her. I stepped in and said no, I would do it, and that was not appropriate for her to ask him."

Sheryl also recalls another improper moment when the Lowes took their nanny with them on a trip to England in 2005: "She (Gibson) had taken a shower and walked out of her bathroom, wrapped in only a towel, dripping wet and walked down two stories (sic) to the living room area where my husband was reading.

"When I saw her, I told her to go to her room and put on some clothes and never do that again."

Meanwhile, two previous employees of the Lowes have come forward with further allegations against Gibson.

Tennis instructor Nigel Armstrong claims the former nanny flirted with him - despite the fact he was 26 years older than her.

In documents filed on Friday (27Jun08), Armstrong stated Gibson removed her pants and underwear and invited the tennis coach to have sex with her even though the Lowe's sons "were in the general area".

And chef James MAClear, who worked for the Lowes from June to December in 2005, claims Gibson had an "overtly flirtatious manner".

A legal declaration filed in Santa Barbara County Superior Court on Friday alleges that within hours of meeting her, Gibson had "changed into hot pants and was laying on the kitchen floor with her legs open in a very suggestive manner".

Ashlee Simpson And Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz Are Engaged

Move over, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, there's another happy couple to congratulate — Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged to be married, the singer's rep confirmed to MTV News.
Just a month ago, Simpson was trying to laugh off rumors that she was engaged and/or pregnant, when she released a statement denying that she had been drunk during a radio interview, as had been speculated. "Questions and false rumors about my dad being a jerk, being pregnant, being engaged, etc., are not fun to answer every single day," she said at the time. "Eventually I try to just laugh them off."
But now the rumors have come true, and Simpson is more than happy to confirm the news. "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I," she wrote with Wentz in a joint statement, posted late Wednesday on FriendsorEnemies.com. "Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged."
Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, said they wanted their fans to be the first to know. "We wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us," they wrote.
Don't expect a lot of details, though, since they also wrote, "We consider this to be a very private matter." Though some reports have placed the site of the proposal in Colorado, a source close to the situation told MTV News that "Pete did not propose in Colorado," nor did he give her a ring there. Wentz previously gave Simpson a diamond promise ring at Christmas.
The couple have been together since late 2006, though they didn't go public until several months into their relationship. Prior to dating Wentz, Simpson told Teen People in May 2006: "Marriage is definitely not on my mind. There's a lot of growing up you do in your 20s, and I definitely want to wait until my late 20s or 30s or whenever the time is right." But more recently, she had started joking that between her and her sister Jessica, she would be the more likely one to get married.
"Thank you for all your support and well wishes," Simpson and Wentz said in the statement. "It means the world to us."

Fielder-Civil pleads guilty

The husband of singer Amy Winehouse has admitted assaulting a barman and attempting to cover it up.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 26, is being tried in London on charges of attacking pub landlord James King, and then conspiring together to have King to withdraw as a witness at the trial.

Fielder-Civil and three co-defendants pleaded guilty last week but a court order delayed reporting the pleas because King is scheduled to face a separate trial.  Winehouse was at Londons Snaresbrook Crown Court last week for the opening arguments in her husbands trial. Fielder-Civil faces a maximum of five years in prison for the assault charge. Perverting the course of justice carries a maximum sentence of life, though that is unlikely to be imposed in this case.

Kurt Cobain Ashes Stolen From Love's Home

Kurt Cobain's ashes have been stolen from the home of Courtney Love say reports, leaving his widow feeling "suicidal".

The News Of The World say Love kept the Nirvana star's ashes in a pink teddy bear-shaped bag, with a lock of his hair. These were then taken, along with clothes and jewellery.

Courtney Love is quoted as saying, "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do."

"Now it feels like I have lost him all over again."

Kurt Cobain killed himself on April 5th 1994, after shooting himself with a shotgun.

Before working at Radio 1, Scottish Bowman co-presented MTV's Hitlist UK with Cat Deeley as well as Capital FM's Cat and Edith's Hit Music Sunday.

Vulture's Open Letter to Katherine Heigl

Photo: Getty Images
New York magazine TV writer Emma Rosenblum has, in her words, "surprisingly strong feelings" about the recent Katherine Heigl Emmy brouhaha. We offered her space to give Heigl a little bit of career advice.

Dear Katherine (Kate? Katie?),

So you’ve acted out once again (no pun intended!). You’ve withdrawn your name from Emmy eligibility, because, in your words, ''I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination.'' And now you’ve started a fight with the writers of Grey’s Anatomy. Their feelings are hurt, Katie: "It's an ungrateful slap in the face," one show insider told EW. You actually won the Emmy for supporting actress last year, which was really so lovely for you. So why, this year, are you so sure your material doesn’t even warrant a nomination? Let’s think.

Okay, Heigl, we agree that Izzie’s story lines have become increasingly marginal and unbelievable. Lately, everyone on the show seems to think that Izzie’s completely irritating. So do we! We actually groan aloud when your perky face appears onscreen! There’s a theory we have about this, Katherine, so listen closely. Have you ever thought that maybe the writers are incorporating your own personality into that of your character? Because we read a lot of women’s magazine and gossip sites, and we think we kind of know you at this point. And guess what? You’re totally annoying and self-righteous, just like Izzie!

Of course, we, too, were offended by Isaiah Washington. He called your on- and-off-screen best friend, T.R. Night, a faggot, and that’s just uncalled for. You established yourself as Night’s defender and kept speaking to the press about how Washington should be fired. So we guess that’s nice of you and all, but you really should have let your friend fight his own battle. You ended up looking pretty darn priggish.

And then (and then!) you called your own hit movie, Knocked Up, “a little sexist.” You have a right to your opinion, and we might even agree with you. But you were Apatow’s first choice for that movie, you did it, you made lots of money, and it made you a certified movie star. What possessed you to bash it? Do you think you’re above the work that you do? It was a comedy, and you profited tremendously. You’re no Streep, honey, and even she does Abba with a smile.

Now we’re going to throw you a bone: We think you’re a talented comedic actress. That’s right, your timing is much better than most, and you have a goofy onscreen persona that combines nicely with your California-girl looks. Plus, My Father the Hero was one of our favorite movies growing up, so we’ll always have a soft spot for you, Heig-y. Though last week, in a dark moment, we watched 27 Dresses on demand. Now that was a case of writers messing up your material.

So please take our advice. Grey’s Anatomy is a soap opera. Get off your high horse, missy. You talk all about the integrity of the Academy? Ha! You know they’re giving an Emmy to a reality-TV show host this year, right? Stop pissing off your writers and directors and castmates. We want to like you, Katherine, really. Please stop making it so hard to do so.

Warmest regards,
Emma Rosenblum
